I am extremely happy to note that Acme Sports Club, Thiruvalluvarnagar, is celebrating their 10th year of existence, with a decade of colourful achievements. I am also delighted to note that during this period the club has already won the Senior division league and "B" Division championships twice in the MDFA league tournament.It is all the more notable that these successes have been achieved during the First (1997) and Third (1999) year of formation of the club.
The Crowning glory has been winning championships in the Senior division in the MDFA League Tournament (Hi-Tech Arai Rolling Trophy) in 2002 and 2004.With this success record, I am sure the club will grow from strength to strength and make football the most popular game in Madurai.
It is all the more heartening to note that the club has also developed players who have been selected at University level.
I wish the President and all the office bearers and players of Acme Sports Club, a very bright and successful future.

I have the privilege to say that Acme Sports Club, Thiruvalluvarnagar is the most disciplined and most punctual team in Madurai. The club is celebrating their 10th year with wonderful achievements.
Acme Sports Club has been producing young and disciplined players year after year. They were worthy winners of the Senior division league in 2002 and 2004 apart from being the "B" Division Champions twice during the early years.
They plan and implement in a positive way for the development of Football in Madurai.

Mr. Andy Symington was the technical advisor to the textile conglomerate The Madura Coats, Some two decades agao he was the Coach od then Football gaint Madura Coats. He was an instrumental figure in shaping the Madura Coats Football team. He was responsible for putting the temple city in the Indian Football Map. During their heyday Madura Coats won the Pretigious Vittal Trophy and thus gained Entry to play in Fedration cup.
He has special interest towards our club. His frequent visits to our club and his valuable tips inspires us to succeed. To honour his service to Madurai football we decided to conduct a football tournament in his name.
