Police held to a goalless draw

Today we played against one of the title contenders, the police team and held them to a goalless draw. The team adopted a 4 – 5 – 1 formation to keep the police attack at bay. In the first 15 minutes the police team created a couple of half chances but we held firm. At the other end Kutti wasted a golden opportunity for Acme from barely 5 meters as he lifted the ball over the cross bar. Ten minutes into the second half, Acme defender Prem was sent off for a second bookable offence. Midway through the second half Kumar’s long range effort hit the cross bar.

The team showed great determination and character to hold on for a memorable draw with 10 men. During the whole match Acme’s goal keeper was forced to make just one save and that reflected their discipline in defending. The police team had scored 23 goals in 4 matched prior to this match.

Acme are currently 3rd in the table with 9 points ( P-5,W-2,L-0,D-3).
